(Wednesday, April 16, 2008) When I was first challenged with the idea of blogging by my son Tim, I was thrilled adn scared at the same time. Blogging seemed like a good way to share my thoughts, for other I can do that better on paper than in person. It seemed like a great way to put down on paper what I have learned and what I feel is important in life. It’s a good way to pass this on to others and perhaps even to descendants of mine who might be curious as to what I was like. Blogging has taught me some things as well, some lessons that apply to all of life. For example, sometimes I feel motivated to do the blog and other times it is a commitment I must keep. Sometimes I enjoy writting the blog, other times my joy comes just because I am done with it. Many things in life are like that as well.
Another lesson is that it seems its always time to write another blog. Every 2 days seems to come around every 2 hours some times! Blogging is never done, just completed for a short while. Then it must be done again. That discipline is an important one in life as well. Also, making the blog insteresting and appealing while also profitable is challenging. You can’t just slop the food on a dish, you have to make sure it is atrtractive, appealing and healthy. The content as well as the packaging must be the best possible. How true of much of what we do in life! Then there is the challenge of saying it in a few words – poicking and choosing the exact word is very important. What is said as well as what is left unsaid is crucial.
Blogging is both a privilege and a responsibility. But then much of what I do during a day falls into this category. In life I need the help of my friends to get along, but blogging is pretty much a one man show. I would like help from those of you who read this (if anyone is reading this!) – if you have any suggestions of something I can blog about let me know. If you’d like to write a blog I can post it here. I’d like to have guest bloggers from time to time. God bless and enjoy the day!
