BAHS FAMILY LEARNING DAYS

Meeting Tuesdays, 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM every other week,

Off Every other week Sept 9-April PLUS Nov 25, All of December (Perhaps we can all work on a Live Nativity together). Off weeks can be used for field trips, play days, etc.

A nursery will be provided.

8:45 AM Opening Devotions

9-10 AM THE BIBLE AND ME by Jerry Schmoyer

For all age children and teens

An overview of how to study, understand and apply the Bible to daily life

Students will memorize all the books of the Bible as well as a one-word theme for each book

They will learn a simple overview (walk-through) of the whole Bible as well

Mothers will have their own Bible study together during this time.

10:15 – 11:15 THE BIBLE AND TEENS by Jerry Schmoyer

For middle and senior high school ages

Deeper application of ‘The Bible and Me’ especially as it relates to home schooled teens

10:15-11:15 THE TABERNACLE

For all elementary age children

Preschoolers make Bible time-line cards to help reinforce what they are learning in the Bible & Me class

A study of the Tabernacle including kits for each child or family to make their own model

11:15-12:00 Lunch break

12:00-1:00 Hands-on science classes for various ages

12:00-1:00 PM Once every other month Jerry will meet with the mothers during this time to cover

home school related topics such as “Is My Home School ‘Successful’ in God’s Sight?” “Am I

Expecting too Much From Myself, My Mate or My Children?” “Understanding the Basic Learning

Styles” etc.

12:30-1:45 HANDS-ON SCIENCE Chemistry for younger students,

9th Grade A-Beka Biology or Anatomy for older students

1:45-2:15 FUN WITH GEOGRAPHY for younger tudents

LIFE PREPARATION (budgeting, economics, stewardship, etc) for older students

2:15-3:30 YOUNG AUTHOR’S CLUB for younger students

INTRODUCTION TO DEBATE for older students

3:30 CLEAN UP AND HEAD HOME

A few evening family activities such as a Christmas party, the Living Nativity, Pot Luck, Family Talent Show, Graduation Ceremony, Science Fair, etc.

COST: $50 to help cover church expenses and utilities, plus the costs of materials used in the afternoon classes. There is no cost for the morning classes.
