Lessons From Joe Paterno and the Recent Events at Penn State

I grew up as a loyal fan of Penn State football.  I have watched them play every Saturday I could since as long as I can remember.  Joe Paterno started coaching when I was 3 years old.  They were heroes in an age when American boys were sorely in need of good role models.  The recent events swirling around Penn State and its football program have captured my mind and heart in a way few other news events ever have.  My emotions are many and varied.  While all the facts are far from revealed, and while conclusions of guilt or innocence cannot be currently drawn with certainty, there are clearly some lessons we can and must learn from this disaster.
